  • Kid Rock's video for "Roll On" to showcase Detroit

    by The Associated Press
    Thursday August 28, 2008, 7:09 AM

Kid Rock performs in Bryant Park on ABC's "Good Morning America" show on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, in New York.

DETROIT (AP) -- Kid Rock is showing his affection for Detroit with a new video for a song on his platinum-selling CD "Rock 'N Roll Jesus."

The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report the boisterous Detroit-area rocker and bandmates on Wednesday visited the Motown Historical Museum to shoot footage of them performing the song "Roll On."

The museum is the former home of Motown Records.

This week a film crew also shot footage of Kid Rock driving around the city in a 1960s Lincoln Continental and visiting landmarks such Tiger Stadium, the former home of the Detroit Tigers that is being demolished.

Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert J. Ritchie, says he "really wanted to capture the heart and soul of Detroit."

The video is expected to be released this fall.

For our first new show of the year, we are thrilled to present Gabe Dixon, playing songs from The Gabe Dixon Band's self-titled national debut. If you remember the excitement you heard when Billy Joel, Elton John or Ben Folds hit the scene, you'll truly enjoy Gabe's music.
