KALAMAZOO -- Looking for the new location of the Plumcrazzy Ice Cream Parlor on South Westnedge Avenue?
It's that building that screams purple, near the pedestrian skywalk south of Cork Street.
The building has purple trim and a purple awning. The front sign is plum-colored, just like the chairs and windowsills inside.

KALAMAZOO -- Southwestern Michigan is well on its way to having a regional online database through which patient health information could be shared confidentially among care providers.
The system is called the Southwest Michigan Health Information Exchange and would be used by health-care providers in Berrien, Branch, Cass, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph and Van Buren counties.

A faith-based fitness center is hoping to recruit hundreds of people to join its 3,000-Pound Community Weight Loss Challenge, a three-month weight-loss and health-improvement effort that kicks off next week.
The challenge is being sponsored by the Living Well Fitness Center, created almost two years ago by Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. The contest starts Monday and runs through April 3.

PORTAGE -- The cashew crunch and pecan crunch at Chocolatea are deceiving.
They look like peanut brittle but are soft and taste like toffee. Store owner Polly Kragt has some available daily for customers to taste. Both items cost $14.99 per pound.

Tickets for Tuesday's "25 Wines for $25" can be purchased at D&W Fresh Market, 2103 Parkview Ave., or at Charlie Foster's, 211 E. Water St. In case of a sellout, a waiting list for the event will be offered. For more information, call 383-5660.
KALAMAZOO -- Supermarkets aren't generally in the business of offering wine tastings, but times are changing now that they have hundreds of wines to sell.
D&W Fresh Markets recently approached Charlie Foster's restaurant to throw a joint wine tasting "25 Wines for $25" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the restaurant, located at 211 E. Water St., in downtown Kalamazoo.
